Suicide claims the lives of over 2,000 Pennsylvanians each year (according to the latest statistics) – an average of five (5) lives each day. It is estimated that each suicide directly and intimately affects six people. Therefore, at least 12,000 Pennsylvanians become survivors of suicide each year who have lost a loved one, friend, co-worker, or classmate, or someone in the community to suicide. (, 2023).

Stroudsburg Area School District will host  QPR Gatekeeper Training on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Stroudsburg High School Auditorium. Training will be presented by Dr. Gina Scala, ESU, and Mrs. Tanya Carmella-Beers, ESU. This event is offered at no cost to attendees. All members of the community, including students ages 12 and older, are welcome and encouraged to attend.
